The Team
Who We Are

Rachel B. Cohen, MSW, MUP
Founder & CEO
Rachel has a diverse background in community planning and social work with a focus on gerontology and nonprofit management. She has more than 30 years of experience working and consulting with public and private organizations of all sizes and across sectors such as housing, aging, health care, public health, social services, and community development. She brings a comprehensive perspective to multi-sector collaborations, fostering communication and positioning for success in evolving funding and policy environments.
Rachel creates an inclusive environment in which participants with diverse communication and learning styles can contribute fully, enhancing the process and their experience. Working nationally, she draws on best practices from organizations and pulls from leading content experts to build her clients’ capacity and increase the efficacy of their efforts.
Rachel has a Bachelors in City Planning degree from University of Virginia, Masters of Urban Planning and Social Work degrees with specializations in non-profit management and aging from the University of Michigan.
Alexa Ambrose
Consultant
Alexa Ambrose plays a vital role across multiple areas of Aging Dynamics. With expertise in content creation, marketing strategy, and social media management, Alexa has been instrumental in building our online presence. She also leads graphic design projects, report formatting, and project management efforts. Her skills in handling administrative duties and logistics ensure smooth operations. Over the past decade, Alexa has supported numerous teams, enhancing brand visibility and streamlining business functions, making her an invaluable asset to our team.
Alexa has a keen interest in mental health with her B.S. in Psychology, and she is currently pursuing her Masters in Social Work.

Sophie Oppenheimer
Sophie Oppenheimer has a background in food systems, applied nutrition, evaluation, and public health. She has spent the majority of her professional career supporting people and organizations focused on improving livelihoods, increasing food security, and restoring natural ecosystems. Sophie is the Executive Director of the Valley Foundation and the Co-Founder/CEO of the Earth Allies Restoration Network (EARN). Additionally, Sophie has worked as a professional researcher and evaluation consultant for over 12 years. Sophie holds an MPH and an MS from Tufts University, as well as a BA from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Sylvia Persin
Sylvia Persin is a student at the University of Arizona’s Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, pursuing her joint bachelors/masters degree. She has experience in program development, research and evaluation, and community outreach. She brings curiosity, commitment, and strong analytical skills to her work, with a particular interest in expanding access to health care. Sylvia supports projects with thoughtful insight and a collaborative spirit as she builds her career in public health.

Angela Schreffler
Angela Schreffler (she/her) is the owner of Centennial Nonprofit Consulting, LLC and has worked in the nonprofit sector for over twenty years. Angela’s passion is in helping organizations achieve their goals and strives to do so in a collaborative, iterative, practical, and approachable way. Prior to starting Centennial Nonprofit Consulting, LLC in early 2023, Angela spent 10 years as the Chief Operating Officer at Colorado Nonprofit Development Center, one of the leading fiscal sponsors in the country. Centennial Nonprofit Consulting, LLC specializes in strategic planning, nonprofit management and infrastructure, business development, operations, risk management, and fiscal sponsorship.

Dan Lasher
Dan Lasher has been a nationally certified ASL interpreter for over 20 years and has been working with Deaf people for over 30 years, mostly in Colorado. He has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and a Masters degree in Environmental Policy, Management and Law and enjoys interpreting in math, science, policy and legal fields. He is the proud father of two (nearly) teenagers and enjoys getting out of cramped spaces and meditating on long hikes in the Rocky Mountains.

Jennifer Kulik, Ph.D.
Jennifer Kulik, Ph.D., is the Founder and CEO of SilverKite Community Arts, with over 30 years of experience in arts programming for schools, older adults, and intergenerational groups. She holds a Ph.D. in Theatre with a specialty in intergenerational arts and an M.Ed. in Curriculum Design. A former teacher and Seattle University faculty member, Jen is also a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching recipient. She frequently presents at national conferences and leads SilverKite, which received Generations United’s Intergenerational Innovation Award in 2019.
